The event commenced with an interschool art competition that showcased the artistic talents of students from various schools. The competition, spanning classes 4 to 12, allowed participants to express their creativity and reverence for snakes, a central theme of Nag Panchami. Students crafted their artworks using a variety of mediums and materials, incorporating traditional elements like milk, flowers, fruits, and other symbolic offerings to snakes.

This event was organized by "Raise Hands Nepal," an organization committed to raising awareness about the importance of snakes in both scientific and religious contexts. The presence of journalists and dignitaries, including Bagmati Provincial Assembly Member Hon. Thakur Prasad Dhakal, Prakash Dawadi, Chairman of Ward No. 13 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, and Rudra Adhikari, Ward Member of Ward No. 6, added prestige to the event. The participation of students from various schools was also acknowledged and appreciated.

In addition to the competition, "Raise Hands Nepal" is actively engaged in the "Smile Campaign for Snakes," which aims to raise awareness about the importance of snakes in the ecosystem.
